New Church Home
REFLECTIONS FROM CHURCH
"So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
The word "resist" implies: "to strive against;" "to work against;" "to oppose aggressively."
In other words, we are to be active in battle AGAINST evil and the devil. We are to be engaged in vigorously opposing and aggressively opposing all the evil desires that will harm our souls.
I found the thoughts of that Scripture to be inspirational for my personal walk with God. One of the character qualities of my pesonality is DETERMINATION. My determination is directed against all that is wrong and evil, hurtful and harmful.
Femmy and I became members of FCC last week and look forward to what God has in mind for us there. I (Charlie) will be team-teaching a Navigator 2:7 class at 9:30am with Russ. I look forward to that. I pray every day, and if you want me to say a prayer for you, just put it in the comment and it will be lifted up to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Trees Please!
Our Trip To Laguna Mountain
We needed an "altitude" adjustment, so we drove to Laguna Mountain (elevation 6000 ft) with our friend Bill to have a picnic, take a hike, relax, and be refreshed and renewed.
Mission Accomplished!
I hope you enjoy the few photos that I took along the way. Charlie
"One thing I ask of the Lord - One thing I seek most - To live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his temple." Psalm 27:4

October Already?
Well, here we are 2 weeks later. What's been going on... well, Femmy has been very busy with her 3rd Grade class and FINALLY had a Saturday with no studying, testing, or school worries. We went walking, swimming, out to eat, and then a nice game of Cribbage. It was relaxing. I (Charlie) have been enjoying my counseling work and part-time volunteer work with the 3rd graders as the "Renaissance Math" coach. This is an advanced math program that I am enjoying helping Femmy to do. Somehow after working with homeless men and women for 8 1/2 years (and drug addicts) I am hoping that my focus on the 3rd graders will perhaps keep one or two from getting into drugs, crime, and prison, and a homeless shelter. I plan to do a little pictorial soon of Femmy in the classroom and Charlie in the counselling room. Stay tuned!

why not?
OK, I guess since I am getting the hang of this, I might as well let you know what we did this past weekend. Femmy is a 3rd grade teacher and had to go to Phoenix (3 hr drive) to take a teach certification test on Saturday. So, we drove up on Sat morning, she took her 4 hour test at 1pm. Then we had dinner with our daughter Elizabeth and her fiance Jimmy. It was our first time to see ASU where they are attending college. They gave us a tour of their dorms and the campus. Sunday we went to Scottsdale to see where Elizabeth works at Fashion Mall. We met several of her co-workers and had a nice time of shopping and eating. That was it. Fun and relaxing. We got home and got to work getting ready for Monday. C & F
Oh, by the way...Elizabeth & Jimmy pictures below.
