3 WELLS

LAST SUNDAY CHURCH NOTES

WELL, WELL, WELL
Genesis 26:19-22

Also Isaac's servants dug in the valley,
and found a well of running water there.

But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen,
saying "The water is ours."

So he called the name of the well Esek (quarrel),
because they quarreled with him.

Then they dug another well and they quarreled over that one also.
So he called its name Sitnah (enmity).

And he moved from there and dug another well,
and they did not quarrel over it.

So he called its name Rehoboth (spaciousness),
because he said, "For now the LORD has made room for us,
and we shall be fruitful in the land."

A WELL
is a symbol of God's blessings...

Even though Isaac had already received God's blessings,

"I will bless you and multiply your descendants

for my servant Abraham's sake," (Gen. 26:24)

He still had to dig the wells.

GOD'S PROMISES ARE TRUE...

But we still have to dig the wells.

FAITH or FEAR - Gen. 12

LAST SUNDAY AT CHURCH
Notes from Pastor Dave...

Genesis 12 -
God gave promises to Abram:

I WILL - show you.

I WILL - make you.

I WILL - bless you.

I WILL - bless those
(who bless you).

I WILL - curse those
(who curse you).

But when Abram went down to Egypt,
he experienced fear.

THEY WILL - kill me

THEY WILL - let you live.

FAITH = I WILL.

FEAR = THEY WILL

FAITH = BE A BLESSING
(to many)

FEAR = BE A CURSE
(to many)

And in you all the families
of the earth
shall be blessed.
Genesis 12:3

Nav Conference

Navigators have invested in people
for over 75 years,
coming alongside them one to one

to study the Bible,
develop a deepening prayer life,
memorize and apply Scripture.

The Navigators is dedicated
to helping people navigate spiritually,
to know Christ and to make Him known
as they look to Him and His Word
to chart their lives.

The ultimate goal is to equip them
to fulfill 2 Timothy 2:2—
to teach what they have learned to others.

Steve & Cynthia Haynes
Steve invited us to a local Navigator conference.
We were excited to join the event
and were not disappointed.

"Living Among The Lost" was the theme and the challenge to connect to the "not-yet-Christians" in our community. see my notes

Thank you, Steve for inviting us!

A Memorial To My Brother - Gary...

BROTHERS IN VIETNAM TOGETHER
Gary (on left) Charles (on right)

What is a brother's place in a family?

To a younger brother or sister, he may be a guide to help traverse the complicated path of growing up.

To an older brother, a little brother may be seen as a tag along and pain in the neck.

As much as siblings squabble when they are young, this is not a sign that they do not love each other.

Most siblings would lay down their life for each other if someone threatened their sibling.

As children grow up they usually find it easier to get along and relate to each other in rewarding ways.

Gary was gone far too long before I knew it.

Here's To Our Health...

AIN'T - a poem from my Aunt Rita

Ain't

He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible School,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler'.

A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high,
Was just another wonder
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from his lawn,
Asking him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.

"I've been to Bible School",
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
"I've learned a lot about God".

"Hmm, fine way," the neighbor said,
For a boy to spend his time."
"If you tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime."

Quick as a flash the answer came,
Nor were his accents faint.
"I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't!"

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!

A FEW MILES DRIVE
and I was at Dunedin stadium,

I enjoyed relaxing and watching a ballgame.

Our mission is focused in three vital areas:

1. Making Christ Known
through the clear proclamation of the gospel,

3. Edifying Believers
through encouragement and assistance
in building effective ministries."

A Tribute To Stan - his favorite poem

I Am A Poor Sinner,
And Nothing At All
But Jesus Christ Is My All In All

Jack the converted huckster who used to sing,
"I'm a poor sinner, and nothing at all,
But Jesus Christ is my all in all."

Those who knew him were astonished
at his constant composure.
They had a world of doubts and fears,
and so they asked him why he never doubted.

"Well," he said,
"I can't doubt but that I am a poor sinner,
and nothing at all,
for I know that, and feel it every day.
And why should I doubt
that Jesus Christ is my all in all?
for He says He is."

"Oh!" said his questioner,
"I have my ups and downs."
"I don't," said Jack;
"I can never go up,
for in myself I am a poor sinner,
and nothing at all;
and I cannot go down,
for Jesus Christ is my all in all."

Jack wanted to join the church,
and they said
he must tell his conversion experience.

He said,
"All my experience is that I am a poor sinner,
and nothing at all,
and Jesus Christ is my all in all."

"Well," they said,
"when you come before the church-meeting,
the minister may ask you questions."

"I can't help it," said Jack,
"all I know I will tell you;
and this is all I know-
I'm a poor sinner, and nothing at all,
But Jesus Christ is my all in all."

He was admitted into the church,
and continued with the brethren,
walking in holiness;
but that was still all his experience,
and you could not get him beyond it.

"Why," said one brother,
"I sometimes feel so full of grace,
I feel so advanced in sanctification,
that I begin to be very happy."

"I never do," said Jack;
"I am a poor sinner, and nothing at all."

"But then," said the other,
"I go down again, and think I am not saved,
because I am not as sanctified as I used to be."

"But I never doubt my salvation," said Jack,
"because Jesus Christ is my all in all,
and He never alters."
